Hello!

Patient Access

A Guide for Patients

Over the last few years there have been huge advances in how we make appointments and access our health information. It is now possible to do more and more of this on-line via a mobile app or in a web browser.

Patient Access is one such on-line system that allows patients to view their appointments, repeat medications and their GP medical records. This can be done either on their website, via a web browser, or using a dedicated mobile phone App.

This guide will show you how to log-in to Patient Access using your NHS login.

Background Information

When you view your record online, you may only see information that was added recently. If you wish to see historical information as well, you'll need to ask your GP surgery to make it visible.

There are wide range of linked on-line systems  used by the NHS. Each health area can choose their preferred provider for patient GP appointments, viewing health records, hospital care information and other services.

Simpson House has chosen to use Patient Access to allow you to view your medical records and other information.

There are other linked services used by your local health trust  for hospital care information (e.g. Patients Know Best ) and some outpatient appointments management (e.g. DrDoctor).

All of these services have one thing in common - you can access or log-in to them either directly or via your NHS Log-In.

In this guide, we've chosen to use access via your NHS log-in.

The reason for this is that using your NHS log-in allows you to use one common User-ID and Password whichever system you wish to access, rather than having to remember multiple different User-ID's and Passwords for each system.
