Over the last few years there have been huge advances in how we make appointments and access our health information. It is now possible to do more and more of this on-line via a mobile app or in a web browser.
This guide is intended to give patients of Simpson House the information they need to be able to access and use these on-line services.
Tip: It may be helpful to read the guides through a few times, to familiarise yourself with the steps, before attempting the actual on-line process itself.
Note: Throughout these pages highlighted text is used for links that you can click or tap on to go to other pages or websites. The ⧉ symbol next to a link signifies that the page or website will open in a new web browser window or tab. (Try it)
There are a wide range of linked on-line systems ⧉ used by the NHS. Each health area can choose their preferred provider for GP appointments, GP medical records, hospital care information and other services.
Simpson House has chosen to use PATCHs for GP appointments and Patient Access to view your GP medical records and other health information.
All of these services have one thing in common - you can access or log-in to them either directly or by using your NHS Log-In.
For this guide, we've chosen to use the NHS log-in option.
The reason for this is that using your NHS log-in allows you to use one common User-ID and Password with whichever system you wish to access, rather than having to remember multiple different User-ID's and Passwords for each system separately.
So, first we'll show you how to set-up an NHS login account and then how to use that login to access PATCHs and other services.
Tip: You may find it useful to have this guide open on one device (e.g. a mobile phone) whilst working through the actual on-line process on another device (e.g. another mobile phone, tablet or computer).
